Research interests

My major research area is the origin and early evolution of birds, and I’m currently working together with Prof. Roger Benson to use 3D morphometrics and statistical comparative methods to reveal the habit ecology of important fossil species during dinosaur-bird transition. My project mostly focuses on early birds and closely related dinosaurs from Mesozoic Jehol and Yanliao fossil assemblages from China, which have revealed unprecedented data on this remarkable transition. This research will hopefully add considerably to understanding of palaeoecology during dinosaur-bird transition.
