Research interests

I am an ornithologist interested in how birds adapt to life on islands. My work encompasses analysing large trait datasets to explore patterns of island adaptation globally, as well as genomic investigations to understand the phylogenetic relationships and patterns of adaptation in island bird species. As large swathes of island bird diversity are now extinct, my work focuses on synthesising data for both extant and extinct species, to understand the extent of adaptive response to life on islands.
